Richard Coates CE Primary School on Thornhill Road is a Church of England state primary (ages 3–11) in Ponteland, part of the Pele Trust that links the town's state schools. Formerly a middle school, it became a primary in the 2019 move to two-tier education and now occupies a purpose-built home on the Ponteland schools campus.\n\nWith its own nursery provision and a place at the heart of the new campus alongside the high school, leisure centre and library, it is one of the core primaries feeding Ponteland High School. Admissions run through Northumberland County Council.
