Nurseries & Childcare in Ponteland

Little Tinklers at the Ponteland Children's Centre on Thornhill Road is an Ofsted-registered day nursery offering full-day and sessional care for children from birth to five. As a dedicated day nursery it covers the full working day, which makes it the main option for parents needing wraparound early-years care.

Best for: Ofsted-registered day nursery, birth to five, full-day and sessional care.

School nursery classes

For the pre-school year, the village's primary schools take children into their nursery and Reception classes from age three:

• Darras Hall Primary School (rated Outstanding at its 2023 inspection) admits from age three.
• Ponteland Primary School on the Callerton Lane campus takes children from age three.
• Richard Coates CE Primary School likewise offers early-years places from age three.

Admission arrangements and funded-hours eligibility change year to year, so check current details directly with the setting and with Northumberland County Council.
