About Ponteland Bowling Club

Ponteland Bowling Club is a friendly, member-owned club on Darras Road in the heart of the village, founded in 1923 and affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Northumberland. Its flat green is regarded as one of the best in the county, and the clubhouse, built in 2003 and extended in 2009, provides comfortable facilities for members and visitors.

The club runs teams in local leagues but is equally welcoming to complete beginners, offering free training, footwear and bowls during the learning phase so newcomers can try the sport before committing. It is a sociable, low-cost way to stay active and meet people, and has been a fixture of village life for over a century.
