Meadowfield Auto Centre Reaches a Third National Final This Year

Ponteland's Meadowfield Auto Centre has added another national shortlist to what is turning into a standout year. The independent garage on the Meadowfield Industrial Estate is one of ten finalists in the 4 to 6 Employees category of the Top Garage Awards 2026, a UK-wide scheme for independent workshops.

As reported by the Hexham Courant, the final takes place on 14 November at the Delphi Academy in Warwick. To get there, garages work through several stages that test their technical knowledge, their processes and business practices, and how they approach running a modern independent workshop.

Following two earlier finals

Regular readers will know the story so far. Earlier this year the garage was runner-up for Best Single Site Garage at the Automechanika Garage of the Year Awards, and it is also a finalist for Garage of the Year, Best Single Site at the Motor Trader Industry Awards 2026. We covered both in Ponteland garage a finalist for national Garage of the Year and, before that, in Ponteland garage boss on two national award shortlists.

Owner Stephen Browne told the Courant: "This one means a lot to us because Top Garage looks at the business from a slightly different angle."

Why it matters locally

For drivers in Ponteland and the surrounding villages, three national finals in a single year is a useful signal when choosing where to take a car for a service, MOT or repair. It is also a reminder that some of the best-regarded businesses in the area sit on the industrial estate rather than on the main street.

The timing is fitting too. The business marks ten years under its current ownership on 16 December, so a good result in Warwick next month would round off the anniversary year nicely. We will report the outcome once the winners are announced.
