About Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens is an English Heritage site in the village of Belsay, about six miles north-west of Ponteland along the A696. The estate brings together a Greek Revival hall, a medieval castle and the quarry and pleasure gardens that link them, and it is one of the nearest large heritage days out for Ponteland families. The sat nav postcode for the car park is NE20 0DU.

The site runs a year-round events programme, and in winter that includes a Christmas Craft Fair in November with handmade gifts from local makers and food traders, Father Christmas weekends in December and seasonal trails in the grounds. Admission is charged, English Heritage members get in free, and booking online in advance is cheaper than paying on the day. Check English Heritage's website for current opening days and times before travelling.
