Record-Breaking End-of-Season Presentation for Ponteland United
Ponteland United FC has held its biggest ever end-of-season awards, with 18 junior teams celebrating a successful year in a marquee at the Ponteland Beer Festival.
The continued growth of Ponteland United FC was celebrated at the club's biggest ever end-of-season awards ceremony.
Eighteen junior teams gathered in a marquee at Ponteland Rugby Club, courtesy of the Ponteland Beer Festival, to mark another successful year. Every player received a participation award, and each team presented four special awards: Manager's Player, Players' Player, Parents' Player of the Season, and the newly introduced Sporting Attitude Award recognising respect, commitment and sportsmanship.
The girls' team awards were presented by Ponteland United Women's captain, while the boys' and mixed teams' honours were handed out by the club's newly appointed secretary.
Organisers said it was the biggest single event the club has hosted, with 18 teams present, and thanked the rugby club for the use of the beer festival facilities. With men's, women's and around 50 junior teams, Ponteland United is one of the area's largest grassroots clubs.
