Dobbies Ponteland Unveils Its Autumn Events Programme

Dobbies Ponteland has unveiled a full programme of autumn events, giving families, dog owners and gardeners plenty of reasons to visit the garden centre on the edge of town over the coming weeks.

For children — Little Scare-lings

The headline family event is the Little Scare-lings Halloween Tea Party, where young guests make potions, play with glow-in-the-dark slime, decorate a trick-or-treat bag, enjoy games and sit down to a spooky afternoon tea. It costs £15 per child, with accompanying adults from £7.50 (including tea or coffee and cake, with the option to upgrade to a full afternoon tea).

The free monthly Little Seedlings Club also continues, with hands-on gardening sessions for children exploring the changing seasons — the next looks ahead to autumn colours.

For dogs — the Pup-kin Patch

Back by popular demand, the Pup-kin Patch lets dogs sniff out and choose their own autumn toy, tackle a doggy obstacle course, play a "sniff or treat" game and finish with a puppuccino from the restaurant — a gentle, tail-wagging outing for four-legged members of the family.

For gardeners — seasonal workshops

Green-fingered visitors can book onto an autumn terrarium workshop, creating a miniature indoor landscape that captures the season's colours and textures, with more festive workshops (including wreath-making) to follow as the year turns.

All of the events require advance booking, which can be done through the Dobbies events website. Autumn activities like these have become a fixture of the local family calendar, and with Halloween and the run-up to Christmas ahead, the store's programme is worth a look.
